Much like Googling a stray headache, bloat or pain can lead you to all sorts of panicked conclusions (oh no, I'm going to die of a rare strain of fever only active in the 1930s that only reveals its symptoms a month after infection!), Googling Adele's vocal cord problems and reading all the overblown headlines might have gotten you a bit too worried for her musical future. Don't worry. She's still got one, her throat surgery was a routine procedure that most singers recover from, and it went smoothly. But in case you've still got lingering doubts, Adele herself said she's both in good health and good spirits. From her blog:
Sorry I haven’t written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I’m just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors. Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I’ve won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all –
Always adele xx
Reassuring, right? Even more reassuring: Adele's miming is almost certainly not going to hurt upcoming single "Set Fire to the Rain." That singing's already been done.
