We've already begun to see the musical potential that exists between two Canadian stars on the rise, and now Carly Rae Jepsen is hoping to reap some of the same benefits by collaborating with the guy who so publicly adores her. Featured credits aren't revealed within the bubble letter tracklisting for CRJ's upcoming album, Kiss, but since "Good Time" is listed without the mention of Owl City, we have to believe "Beautiful" is in fact the Justin Bieber project and that Our Girl's hand just got tired.
Like the similarly titled ditties that have come before this Canadian super creation, "Beautiful" is about focusing on the gorgeous that exists on both the inside and out, by someone who may or may not be partial to the comforting sounds of a tambourine. "What makes you so beautiful is that you don't know how beautiful you are to me," Bieber sings in this early preview, employing a familiar strategy previously heard from another one of 2012's breakout acts. "You're not trying to be perfect, nobody's perfect, but you are to me." Turns out The Bieb first revealed some of these lyrics to us last summer, long before we thought to coyly slip someone our digits with the disclaimer that yes, such behavior is crazy.

Carly previously described what would ultimately become her duet with The Bieb as not exactly a club anthem, but both laid back and "intimate" tune to listen to at home. Based on the first 90 seconds, this sounds mostly like a Bieber track, with his voice following Carly's breathy ruminations on how they became more than friends with the encouraging reminder that he loves you (and you and you) just the way you are. It's going to be difficult for anything to recreate the same magic as a song so ripe for continuous play like "Call Me Maybe," but partnering with The Bieb is as good a strategy as any. What makes The Bieb truly beautiful is his ability to keep supporting Our Girl. Canada stand up!
