Elizabeth Olsen Dancing GIF Disney+

Since WandaVision's series finale on March 5th, the only content more pervasive throughout the fandom than plot hole debates is speculation over a second season.

Curiosity over a show's renewal status is common, despite studios usually greenlighting additional season(s) publicly before the prior ends. When such an announcement doesn't come, you can expect plenty of internet speculation and clickbait fueled by the desperate hope of mourning fans. Will Fleabag come back for a third season? The End Of The F***ing World was too good not to keep going, right?

8 of the Biggest Disappointments in "WandaVision"

With the milestone series now wrapped, we look back on revelations that left fans deflated

Wandavision

Disney+

Major spoilers below for all of Wandavision.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's official debut television series, WandaVision, is probably my favorite entry in the entire franchise... for at least half of it. Even with the unenviable responsibility of kicking off phase four of the MCU (reported to consist of over 24 films and television programs), the show delivered a remarkably original premise and well-crafted presentation that stands on its own.

"Superhero" film and TV, particularly in the case of Marvel and Disney, has a reputation for being formula-driven, derivative, and "safe." Yet somehow, in explicitly imitating and referencing several of the largest television series in history, WandaVision managed to be unlike anything else.

“WandaVision” Recreates “Malcolm in the Middle” for Episode 6

Spoilers ahead for WandaVision episodes 1 through 6

WandaVision Intro vs Malcolm in the Middle Intro

While an ordinary sitcom would have used this week to give us a Valentine's Day episode, WandaVision exists in a world (inside of a world, inside of a world) of its own.

Anyone following the series is well aware of the show's conceit: each episode finds Marvel characters Wanda Maximoff and The Vision living in a television sitcom "reality," deliberately imitating classic American sitcoms from the 1950s to the present.

Wonder Woman 1984 is the long-awaited sequel of 2017's Wonder Woman, with Gal Gadot portraying the titular superhero for the fourth time in a feature film.

Originally slated for release more than a year ago, on Dec. 13, 2019, the film's debut in the United States was pushed a surprising number of times before finally seeing the light of day on Dec. 25, 2020, via HBO Max. The film was first delayed until June, 2020, due to "rushed pre and post-production," but then received an additional extra seven months for the post-production team to perfect the film due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With only one more episode remaining in Season 2, fans will likely be disappointed that Chapter 15 barely hits 32 minutes, excluding credits. And let's be honest, not a lot happened.
