For the past few years, Solange Knowles has turned her attention away from the music industry and towards the fashion world. Recently, she's posed as the face of Madewell, attended the Met Ball and DJ'd a party for Fashion's Night Out. But with the release of her new single "Losing You," she's back on the pop scene.

Solange incorporated her love of bold prints into the video for the tune, which was filmed by Melina Matsoukas (the director of her previous "I Decided" video).

Styled by Solange as well as her friend and sister's stylist Ty Hunter, the video features the singer all dandied-up, shaking her hips and snapping her fingers around Cape Town, South Africa with a fashionable entourage that includes the gentleman of Les Sapeurs (aka the Society of Tastemakers and Elegant People aka a group of guys who really know how to rock a suit).

Here's how to get her look, pattern by pattern:

Solange likes to layer one big print atop another, like with this polka-dot cardigan that she wears over a blouse with a similar-size pattern. Loft has a reasonable facsimile of this piece, but you can also wear polka dots on your blouse or jeans.

Leopard is one of those prints that never seems to be "out." It's practically a neutral and can be worn, as Solange demonstrates, with other patterns or solid colors.

If you want to go the heel route, here are the exact same calf-hair pumps she wore to groove around in the video. These pointy-toe skimmers from Urban Outfitters are a decent approximation of her flats.

Style Solange Losing You

Plaid is a classic, but it looks all fresh and chic when worn with other, more out-there prints. We couldn't track down the pants Solange donned for her bike trip, but we did find a pair of Gap trousers and Current/Elliott jeans that will do the trick. Or you could wear your plaid in jacket form (try this option from Cut 25).

The bigger and more blown out the houndstooth, the more playful it looks. Solange's coat appears to be from DVF's pre-fall 2012 collection, but it's not available right now online. However! The designer also put out a dress in the very same color scheme and print. This House of Holland brocade blazer and Topshop sweater also capture the vibe nicely.

This one-a-kind-looking jacket has a lot going on: stripes, patches of floral fabric, a fancy collar. Not to mention that it's being worn with a red-and-white top and what appear to be brocade hotpants. (If you're not getting it, the general style theme of "Losing You" is that it's very okay to mix it up.) Anthropologie makes a striped cardigan that's similarly detailed around the neckline while these trousers, from one of Solange's fave labels, are a good way to dip your toe into the look without going too nuts. Of course, you can't go wrong with a striped shirt, and this one from J.Crew ups the fashion ante with a pretty little peplum.
