Stevie Wonder (born Stevland Hardaway Judkins, which might be the 2nd coolest name to "Stevie Wonder") turns 63 today.
The multi-instrumentalist was a child prodigy despite being permanently blind since birth. He has been signed to Motown's Tamla label since the age of eleven, penning and performing such hit singles as "Sir Duke," "Superstition," and "You Are the Sunshine of My Life." Wonder often broke new ground with his lyrical explorations. "Living For The City," which is ranked #105 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, explores the subjects of poverty and racism with gripping detail.
Stevie Wonder is an extremely cool customer, but his smile is among the most infectious in music. Turns out this has always been the case:
We wanna be friends with young Stevie Wonder.
Happy Birthday Stevie!
