Christmas came early for Justin Bieber on Tuesday, in the form of a recording session with some of his biggest musical inspirations."2day i woke up and realized that the group that made me want to sing @BoyzIIMen are now on the christmas album singing with me. #DREAMBIG," he tweeted. Everyone sends their own Christmas List Santa's way, The Bieb's just happens to be work related. What did you expect? He is a professional. After announcing plans for a holiday album consisting of both the classics and original songs, Bieber's been busy working to get the disc completed just in time for parents to subject themselves to Black Friday madness. And after what we gather was a highly successful and bromantical studio session, he couldn't stop gushing about the Philly quartet—now trio—who influenced his prepubescent vocal tricks from an early age. "i used 2 listen to their music and practice the runs. that is how i learned how to sing. now im in the studio with them making music 2gether." You heard it from The Bieb first, kids. Dreams do come true.
Yet Bieber was not the only one excited about the collaboration. Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman quickly returned the compliment, acknowledging the power of the 17-year-old, tweeting "we got love for u lil bro!! Thank YOU, and Thanx for everything u do for ur fans!! I KNOW they appreciate it." In fact, the pairing is likely a win-win for both parties: Bieber gets to share the same oxygen as a few of his idols, while an accomplished group well past their prime can ride the coattails of an underage phenomenon, in hopes to garner the attention last fall's appearance on The Sing-Off couldn't seem to muster. "im telling you...never say never...never stop dreaming....never give up. #DREAMBIG. @BoyzIIMen Im honored and blessed. thank u," Bieber finished. Think he's excited? Whether or not he'll trade his Nikes for bow ties has yet to be determined.
