The Ellen DeGeneres-assisted auction of Justin Bieber's hair—with proceeds going to the farm-animal sanctuary The Gentle Barn—closed at $40,668 just 30 minutes ago, to a seller known to the public only as "a***0." The likelihood of there being Bidder Shenanigans in this auction is low, since Ellen required buyers to register with her before they were even allowed to put in a claim on the Canadian teen sensation's locks. So hooray for the animals, and for Bieber's new do, and for the Internet for allowing us to hear about these sorts of auctions as soon as they close. A reminder of what once was, and what is now being put in a very special FedEx package:
Here's hoping that whoever won the hair didn't spend all that money so they could use it for nefarious voodoo-doll purposes.
