Kanye West has a "Back to Black" remix in the works, according to Britain's Daily Mirror. Never one to resist an opportunity to stake his claim in music relevancy, Yeezy was able to lay down something new on top of one of Winehouse's signature tracks in between promoting his new album with Jay-Z. As for the sound? "It's pretty emotive," says the paper's source. "It's Kanye singing from the heart–with synthesizers." Time to bring our copy of 808s & Heartbreak back into the rotation (shudder). West will reportedly debut the track in London in September before the Watch The Throne tour kicks off stateside on October 28. In all seriousness, Winehouse's track has the unique, retro sound that Kanye, the producer, would salivate over, so it makes sense that he'd be eager to (respectfully) get his hands on a remix opportunity. West is just the latest artist to deliver a musical tribute to the late singer, following Green Day's debut of "Amy" earlier this week, proving just how far her influence extended in such a short period of time. Consider us officially intrigued.
