Don't judge a woman by the size of her shoes, Little Monsters. Lady Gaga would like you to believe she's experienced her fair share of financial hardships, too (which might explain her strange behavior on Letterman earlier this week...girl can't even afford some ramen noodles). We've yet to get the final numbers on Born This Way's first week sales, but even if they're astronomical, Gaga still wants people to know that it's not all about making paper once you're in the spotlight; there are plenty of bills to be paid, too. Gawker has a look at the upcoming Gaga profile in the Financial Times (hitting the Interwebs this weekend) in which she describes the financial strain suffered as a result of The Monster Ball tour. (But she soldiers on, for you guys. So keeping buying those tickets!) Apparently she's not out buying cases of Cristal or homes in St. Barts, just a Rolls and something to keep her Pops alive:
The only big things I've purchased are my dad's heart valve and a Rolls Royce for my parents, for their anniversary. And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gaga license plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was getting followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car. Other than that, I put everything in the show and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the Monster Ball.
Poor Gaga, she's just trying to be a good daughter. I'm guessing her first check from V has come in yet? Let's hope that Fox picked up the tab for last night's elaborate Idol performance.
