It's been rumored since early October that Super Bowl XLVI would include a halftime performance by Madonna, yet technically unconfirmed by the powers that be. Now all you rule abiding citizens opposed to the rush that comes with shameless speculation may officially get excited: Madge's role in American football's biggest stage was confirmed during NBC's Sunday Night Football telecast. NBC sportscaster Bob Costas weighed in, so you know it's real, and there's even a commercial! Like we've said before, the February 5 date works in Madge's favor, as she'll be heavy into album promoting mode, with her still untitled LP scheduled for a spring release. While our ideal set list features the likes of "Express Yourself," "Vogue" and "Music," her collaborations with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. on first single "Give Me All Your Love" could allow for an interesting slew of guests, barring they pass the FCC's dress code. With her hometown team the Detroit Lions' road to the Super Bowl looking less likely after last night's loss to the New Orleans Saints, at least residents of the Motor City won't have to suffer through Nickelback again.
