Between celebrity break-ups and album delays, this month is beginning to feel like a dark, cold tunnel of despair where we're forced to listen to same 2011 music over and over again. Or just January. Season depression aside, we'll have to wait a bit longer for one of the more anticipated releases of the year, as Nicki Minaj has pushed back the release of second album Roman Reloaded until the spring. Along with Friday's premiere of her new video "Stupid Hoe," Minaj updated her fans on some housekeeping via Twitter:
New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of surprises before then ;). Love Always, HB— Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) January 21, 2012
Following similar announcements from Lil Wayne, Drake and most recently, Tyga, this is becoming somewhat of a trend among Young Money/Cash Money releases. Fortunately we'll have our fix of Minaj—and likely teasers upon teasers for her new album—in the coming months, with a Super Bowl performance and Grammy gig next month. Plus, the delay gives her more time to perfect her "female Weezy" schtick.
