Oh Toronto, you didn't think you were the only musically-gifted region in the eyes of Taylor Swift, did you? (Oh you did? That's sweet.) It turns out Canada isn't that special after all. After catering to the crowd north of the border by performing some of their finest musical creations, we knew Swift wouldn't be silly enough to neglect the musical history of one of the United States' finest destinations. Nashville? Seattle? Eh, New Jersey?! Swift began her campaign for unofficial Jersey residency by paying tribute to the state's most heralded sons (Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi) during her concert on Wednesday. After commenting on the "amazing" musicians that call the Garden State home, she began a brief medley of The Boss' "Dancing in the Dark" and Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer." (Swift is coming of age during a recession, so of course she understands the working class undertones and ethos contained within these classic songs.) While her fans didn't seem to mind these obvious choices (some were likely hearing them for the first time!) we're still hoping she takes on The Fugees "Ready or Not" Saturday night in Newark. South Orange represent! At least these were better than Miley Cyrus' recent covers.
