Covering hit songs appears to be all the rage among our up-and-comers these days, doesn't it? Right on the heels of Ariana Grande's a capella cover of Whitney Houston's "I Believe in You and Me," Victorious star Victoria Justice decided to take her own crack at acoustic crooning.
20-year-old Justice went with fun.'s "Some Nights," an ode to sex, death, doubt, and nephews. The subject matter isn't exactly Nickelodeon material, and it's hard to picture a ten-year-old Victoria doubting her career longevity with lyrics like "Ten years of this, I'm not sure anybody understands."
Despite taking on a song very specific and personal to fun. lead singer Nate Ruess, she manages to make it her own and sounds very pretty, particularly in the a capella harmony sections. Take a listen for yourself!
Not too shabby, eh?
