How cool would it have been for Lee Hi to score four weeks at No. 1 with her debut single, "22.214.171.124?" The 16-year-old monster rookie sure came close, bagging three weeks at the top of the rapidly-changing Gaon singles chart before being pipped at the finish line by Lee Seung Gi. The friendly balladeer's new tune, "Return," raced into first place this week, knocking Lee Hi down a few pegs to No. 5. She has little to cry about, though, as her latest digital single, "Scarecrow," debuts at an impressive No. 3 without the aid of an official music video or any promotional performances.
Elsewhere on the chart, our new fave songstress, Juniel, debuts at No. 4 with her latest effort, "Bad Man." INFINITE rocker Sunggyu reaches No. 16 with his solo single, "60sec," rising girl group, SPICA, snag their second highest-charting song to date with their Girls Aloud sound-alike single, "Lonely," at No. 38, and finally, GAVY NJ's "Pretty" --which we recently examined in painstaking detail-- arrives at No. 71.
As for next week's chart, Lee Seung Gi looks locked in for a second week at the top. "Return" is currently ruling the Instiz iChart with a healthy lead, and there's nothing out right now that is strong enough to challenge the untouchable 25-year-old.
