Hazlewood's star is 'bout to burst.
As diehard Ben Hazlewood fans already know, the singer's voice drips with soul and emotion and a tender yearning. While he may have competed on Australia's version of The Voice back in 2012, his star is finally beginning to burn through the stratosphere. With his new track, Stay Tonight -- ripped from his engrossing new Vanta EP, released earlier this summer -- the pop powerhouse hits hard with a delicious radio-ready hook, while never compromising the heart which perches at the core of everything he does.
Stay Tonight is a slow-burner, wafting up from the embers of love -- a shattering declaration of unconditional admiration and exhilaration. When you think the song is finished, Hazlewood rockets into the sky like a comet and delivers one of the best vocal performances of the entire decade. The music video -- which premieres exclusively today -- was filmed in Nashville's Ocean Way. The iconic studio lies in the heart of Music Row and was remodeled in 1996 from a church. The venue has been home to such recordings by Willie Nelson, Matchbox Twenty, Sheryl Crow, Harry Connick Jr., Paul Simon and George Strait, among countless others.
"Ocean Way is one of those rare spaces where the moment you step in there is an overwhelming feeling that surrounds you. Unsure whether it's the light, the building itself or all of the talent that has come before you, the vibe is electric and lights your soul," Hazlewood shares exclusively with Popdust.
Stay Tonight is available now on iTunes.

Happy birthday to the world's biggest genre
On this day in 1973, Clive Campbell, the Jamaican-American "selector" known as DJ Kool Herc, hosted a "back to school jam" at 1520 Sedgewick Avenue in the Boogie Down Bronx of New York City.
Armed with a booming sound system and reggae beats, Herc– a shortened nickname for "Hercules"– commanded insatiable audiences across the South Bronx with his unique looping technique called the "Merry-Go Round." "[I knew that] they were waiting for this particular break," Herc later said, "and I got a couple of records that got the same break up in it. I wonder how it would be if I put them all together."

Raymond's popularity sheds light on a bizarre underside of the Animal Crossing fandom.
Raymond is a smug cat who highlights his heterochromatic eyes with hipster glasses.
He is essentially the same exact character as every other Animal Crossing villager with a "Smug" personality type, but again, and this is very important, Raymond is a cat with heterochromatic eyes and hipster glasses. As such, he has completely broken the Animal Crossing community.
