Now everybody ask me why I'm smiling out from ear to ear? Well, this wonderful bit Beyonce news, of course! The reining goddess of pop is set to deliver what has been dubbed one "epic" performance. Yes, that's right, the Queen who shocked the nation last December with a visual full-length will set the stage on fire.
Bey, who leads the pack of nominees with a whopping eight, is also set to be honored with the Video Vanguard Award—the show's equivalent of a career achievement milestone. Previous honorees are Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Madonna and Justin Timberlake.
The powerhouse diva's nominations include Video Of The Year ("Drunk In Love"), Female Video ("Partition") and Best Collaboration (with Jay Z on "Drunk In Love"), among several others. Other leading nominees include Iggy Azalea and Eminem (both with seven apiece), Pharrell Williams (three), Miley Cyrus (two), Sam Smith (two), Katy Perry (two) and Sia (two). Beyonce joins previously announced performers Maroon 5 (for the first-time ever), Ariana Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds Of Summer.
The 2014 VMAs go live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, August 24 at 9/8c on MTV.
Let's hope we are blessed with a performance as iconic as that at the 2011 VMAs (remember that one?):
