BIGBANG's Seungri Hits The Top Five Of Japan's Oricon Chart With New Solo Album

Seungri's solo career hasn't been as successful as some of his BIGBANG bandmates, like G-Dragon and Taeyang, but he hasn't done too bad for himself. His first Japanese album, Let's Talk About Love, just debuted at No. 4 on the Oricon weekly chart with 19, 958 copies sold.

It's a lower number than the 35,205 copies that Daesung's D'scover sold in its first-week back February, but there's a reason for that. D'scover was a covers album of famous Japanese ballads, and covers albums (as well as hits compilations) are big sellers in Japan. On the other hand, Let's Talk About Love was just Seungri's two solo Korean EPs sung in Japanese with just one new song added.

D'scover was eventually able to sell over 50,000 copies all up and even spawned a sold-out Japanese tour, so hopefully the same thing can happen for Seungri. His solo music is the best to come out of BIGBANG, so he definitely deserves it.
