Bill Murray has developed quite the reputation for pulling hilariously bizarre pranks on strangers - like stealing food from someone's plate and saying "no one will ever believe you".

The actor took it one step further over the holiday weekend when he crashed a bachelor party and gave some excellent (if slightly unrealistic) advice to the groom.

The incident took place in Charleston, SC, where a group of a 20 Boston College students were celebrating their friend EJ's impending marriage. One of the guys spotted Bill and asked if he would congratulate the groom but the actor said no - but apparently changed his mind and came over to share his worldly wisdom.

"Don't just sort of think in your ordinary mind, you think, OK let's plan a date, let's make a party and get married," he said. "Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of, and if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK and you're still in love with that person, get married at the airport."

Flawless advice! it's like Eat Pray Love on crack.
