Brandy's officially working on her seventh studio album! The Moesha icon confirmed the good news in an interview back in September when she was over in Europe doing some promotional stuff. She also expressed her disappointment over last year's Two Eleven flopping (it only sold a dismal 180,000 copies according to S2S Magazine), and then rattled off a list of people she's hoping to work with on the new album. She named an array of popular urban hitmakers, including Sean Garrett, James Fauntleroy, Pharrell, Timbaland, and Bangladesh.
Okay, is it just us, or does anybody else think that maybe it's time for Brandy to start working with some fresh faces? She talked about Two Eleven flopping (and before Two Eleven was released, she spent countless interviews talking about how Human flopped), yet now she's preparing to hit the studio with half the producers that did Human and Two Eleven.
It's time to try something new, girl.
We're definitely here for Pharrell and Timbaland, though. Pharrell's back on top of the charts with "Blurred Lines" and we know he could make some magic for Brandy, while Timbaland was behind Afrodisiac -- arguably one of Brandy's best albums.
Oh, by the way, Brandy has also expressed interest in recording a Gospel album. Sorry Gospel fans, but we're not quite ready to see Brandy turn into the next Michelle Williams just yet. More Afrodisiac, please!
