Most of us remember past achievements through the power of photographs—or if you're a devout Zuckerbergian—the Timeline, but when you're a 26-year-old Canadian recently lifted from obscurity by the golden hand of Justin Bieber, any major milestone will almost always be televised and tweetable. Carly Rae Jepsen made her U.S. television debut this afternoon, with a performance and comfy couch chat on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. As a reward for all the attention her song has gotten over the last few months, Carly brought "Call Me Maybe" to life on the daytime stage, showing those who may not have been previously aware that she has a face, four limbs and a pretty good sense of style. Delivering fairly true-to-radio vocals that seemed to overcome any lingering nerves performing for millions of viewers (and your sorta boss?) might bring on, Carly left the security of the mike stand to move beneath the oversized dandelion lights during the final moments of her euphoric head-bobber. A proud Bieb was on hand for a supportive hug, later overpowering Carly's Moment with the first listen of his new single. Gotta stay ahead of the competition somehow. Watch below.
