Did you ever watch Takers? Hopefully not, that movie was pretty terrible. But it did have a couple things to recommend it—namely the performances from T.I. and Chris Brown, both of whom flexed relatively impressive theatrical muscle in their respective supporting roles. (And also Stringer Bell from The Wire with a British accent—which is actually his real accent, which is sort of weird.) We knew about T.I. from ATL, but it was more of a revelation that Brown could hold his own without his singing or dancing skills allowing him any sort of crutch. It made those of us fortunate enough to pay $15.50 for Takers on hotel Pay Per View (whatever, it was late and we were desperate for marginal entertainment) wonder what he could do with a real starring vehicle.

We'll find out soon, as Brown is now lined up to play the lead role in the upcoming breakdancing flick Planet B-Boy. A statement from the movie's studio, Screen Gems, mentions that the movie is about "an all-star American b-boy crew training to compete in France at the Battle of the Year (BOTY) International Championships. After a decade of defeat, the crew and their coach must go up against the best and greatest b-boys in the world: the Koreans, the Russians and the French who have dominated the original American dance form for the last 10 years.” Wow, Breezy taking down the breakdancing Big Three? Yeah, we're in. Sold.

Interestingly, the other lead actor listed in the movie is Josh Holloway, a.k.a. Sawyer from LOST. It's hard to see where exactly the 42-year-old actor would fit in to the international breakdancing competition storyline. Professional mentor? Coach of the evil Russian team? Young up-and-comer threat? Just another reason to start waiting on line now for Planet B-Boy's eventual release sometime in the not-too-distant (but maybe-kinda-distant?) future.
