After the expected lead single of Ciara’s new album One Woman Army, “Sweat” featuring 2 Chainz, was mysteriously scrapped, she’s back with a new one and it’s...apologetic. The video premiered on BET’s 106 & Park yesterday, and it’s also a huge downer. A strange voice echos the chorus as Ciara traverses an expansive California mansion: showing off her signature moves on the porch, sitting “in silence” on a neatly-made bed, and looking gorgeously downtrodden while soaking in a bathtub.

“Sorry” is a traditional R&B ballad with a simple premise: “All you have to do is say that I’m sorry,” Ciara croons to a presumably unfaithful lover. While the video features Ciara’s strong suit: dance moves reminiscent of “Ride” that are utterly stunning, it’s unclear why the upbeat dance track “Sweat” was scrapped for a much more conservative single. Leaked tracks from her upcoming album have already received praise -- especially the addicting tropical pop jam “Livin’ It Up.”

Even though we still can't wait to see what she puts out next, “Sorry” doesn't live up to Ciara's "Queen of Crunk" title.
