A desperate manhunt has commenced in Akron, Ohio to locate a mad man who had been terrorizing neighbors for the past three years.
Residents have lived in fear that they, too, will wake up to discover that the maniac has struck again, and defecated on their car, their yard, or even their children’s toys.
But early Wednesday, the case that for nearly half a decade has baffled law enforcement took a heartening turn after a neighbor set up a time-lapse camera. He managed to catch our man in the act — and turned his evidence (the tape not the poop) over to police.
Authorities have released the photo of the so-called "Bowel Movement Bandit," who they say has pooped on at least 19 parked cars in driveways in the neighborhood of Castle Homes.
The guy who set up the camera told NBC affiliate WKYC that the pooper has struck the family's car at least eight times since the fall.
"I was questioning my son: Who do you have mad at you?" said the resident, who did not want to be named. "People were pointing fingers all over the place."
Another victim, Rob Brunson said:
"My mother-in-law walked out of our house one day, and the kids' front-yard slide had to be sanitized,"
He added that neighbors have been playing the "blame game.” But the photograph of the suspect has exonerated any other suspects.
Akron police Lt. Rick Edwards told WKYC;
"The photo shows this guy bent over on the hood, pants to ankles defecating on the car. We need to know who this person is."
