Currensy Syncs Up with "Weekend at Bernie's"

We figured Curren$y's Weekend at Burnie's title was just a bad weed pun based on a immortally stupid late-80s comedy, but apparently, it's so much more than that. The album is now being billed as an alternative soundtrack to the Andrew McCarthy / Jonathan Silvers slapstick classic, with Curren$y even streaming his new album (in advance of its June 28th release) along with the movie in full, a la Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz. From the couple minutes we've watched we think the synchronization might be a little bit of a stretch, but then again, we're not sure if anything less goofy than Oingo Boingo or "Yakety Sax" would've worked for this movie's musical accompaniment. Judge for yourself:

[Some Kind of Awesome]
