Paris has provided the backdrop for wistful videos from Adele and Beyoncé and Jay-Z babymaking, and now the City of Lights has given D'Angelo the opportunity to perform a great, true-to-form cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity," without working it into a Tim Tebow joke. It's been over 10 years since the release of Voodoo, yet D'Angelo is reportedly working on a new album to be released later this year. He continued to reassure us of said disc's existence with another live show, holding court at Zénith on Sunday night, and channeling Bowie as well if not better than professional impersonator Jimmy Fallon. If this is what a lengthy wait can produce, we guess we can withstand a few more months until hearing James River–just keep the fantastic live covers coming. During the set, he also performed "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," with an acoustic version that sadly did not replicate its iconic video, but lent itself to a stellar live recording. Watch both below.
