Fighting flying Gleeks outside the Al Hirschfeld Theater, or executing scaffolding choreography eight times a week seems awfully time consuming to us, yet Darren Criss found a moment to stop by Live! With Kelly this morning to chat about his starring role in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, which he began on Tuesday. And like we predicted, the scruff is gone! A moment of silence, please. The Glee star's short Broadway run is bittersweet, as he grew up doing theater and enjoys performing live. You know this. For those who aren't lucky enough to see him over the next two and a half weeks—relying instead, on some crafty audience members—Criss came bearing scoop about Glee's return on January 17, and the anticipated Michael Jackson episode on January 24.
The rumored MJ tracklist has already leaked (we've posted it below) but the described "lover of the old school" lent some perspective to his "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" solo, and introduced us to the previously unheard of—yet probably adorable—"Mars Trip," an awkward cousin of the famous Moonwalk. "[Michael Jackson] added so much to everything that regardless if it sounded like a good song or a bad song, it didn't matter. He just brought so much energy it kind of superseded everything else," he said. "It was kind of intimidating." Compared to his New Direction peers, Blaine is a much more nimble dancer, voluntarily entering Booty Camp to "catch up" rather than learn the concept of rhythm, unlike some others—you're making progress Finn! But that doesn't mean he's ready to recreate Jackson's moves. "Absolutely not! No way," he laughed, when asked if he could move like the King of Pop. Hopefully Ryan Murphy invested in a conveyor belt during the show's four-day filming crunch to create the proper illusion. Watch below.
