Fifth Harmony Powers Down With New Single 'Sledgehammer'—Listen Now!

MUSIC

Fifth Harmony took some time on Thursday night (Oct. 23) to address what all Harmonizers have been wanting to know: their next radio single. Following some "technical difficulties" with their anticipated Twitcam livestream, The X-Factor alums shared the big announcement. The thumping track officially premiered on 104.3NOW, and you can listen to the track below.

"Sledgehammer," the next sampling from their forthcoming debut album Reflection (out in Dec.), follows the plucky, R&B-tinged "BO$$." If 5H were looking for a captivating breakout it, "Sledgehammer" just might knockout all the other competition and catapult the talented pop divas into the stratosphere. The head-bobbing beat is syrupy sweet (like only they could convincingly deliver), dripping with club-hoisted readiness and an ear-worm hook. Hit, hit, hit it into the Top 40 pockets, girls.

Previously, their Better Together EP spawned a gold-selling blockbuster 'Miss Movin' On," ultimately leading to the group's first award win at this year's Video Music Awards for 2014 Artist To Watch in August.

"December has played a major part in 5H history: December 2012 we finished 3rd on The X Factor, which changed our lives forever. December 2013 we did our first holiday radio tour, which included playing at Madison Square Garden. So putting our debut album out in December 2014 just felt right," the girls have shared on their website about the album's expected street date (which has yet to be confirmed). Originally, Reflection was noted to drop Nov. 17 but that has been changed.
