French Montana is defending his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, saying he is not just in it for the fame.
In an interview with Billboard last week, French made some questionable comments about how he was using Khloe to get his name out there.
"I want to capitalize on it," he said. "I'll get a fan base from everywhere. I just hope I'll be able to connect with everything that's going on."
Fans of Khloe were understandably quick to blast French on social media, but in a new interview with Access Hollywood the rapper says his comments were taken out of context.
"I was so mad about that ... If I'm with somebody, I'm not with them for that reason,” he told Kit Hoover and guest co-host Bryan Safi.
French went on to explain that if anything, Khloe is the one in need of his support, especially when it comes to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
"I hate being on camera... Sometimes you're not ready for it and it's too much pressure, but I love it. But I hate how it happened… all the commotion. She supports me with everything I do. When it comes to her career, I don't think about it. If she needs me to do something, I do it."
