Pop music history is full of oddball celebrity friendships. Madonna and Sandra Bernhard. The Beatles and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Michael Jackson and the Elephant Man's bones. Now it looks like we can officially add Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan to that list. The friend-crushing seems to have started when Gaga and LiLo shared a hotel room at the Chateau Marmont in what looks to have been the sleepover event of the season. And now, it might be consummated with that surest sign of pop celebrity friendship commitment—the music video cameo.
Yes, the New York Post cites sources telling them that Lohan will be appearing in the latest Gaga video—though who knows what for, since all we have of her new album currently is a title. "It turns out that Lindsay will be starring in Gaga’s new video from her upcoming album," a Hollywood insider tells the Post. "Due to Gaga’s superstar status, this would be Lindsay’s biggest [role] by far in many, many years,” posits another source, who isn't even listed as a Hollywood insider so it must just be some loser.
We're still a mite puzzled by Gaga's recent infatuation with Lindsay Lohan, who hasn't done much for us but make us depressed in the last half-decade, but we are excited to see where this relationship goes. Maybe we can get a "Telephone, Pt. II" with LiLo playing Gaga and Honey Bee's gal pal Sweet'ums? And plus, if it inspires LiLo to revive her long-dormant but always-promising musical career, that couldn't really be considered anything but good news, could it?
