Admit it to yourself, a new catchy Frozen anthem is exactly what you wanted. For the upcoming short-film Frozen Fever (somewhat of a sequel to 2013's blockbuster animated feature), the anthemic Making Today a Perfect Day serves the backdrop for a rather different adventure. When Elsa (Idina Menzel) attempts to plan a glorious birthday party for Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa actually comes down with a horrible, sneeze-fueled cold. That will certainly throw a monkey wrench into the proceedings, won't it?
The new peppy song is penned by the Let It Go masterminds Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Even though it doesn't possess the same built-in smash sensibility, the uptempo will surely get stuck in your head all the same. "A cold never bothered me anyway," Elsa samples in the adorable banter before the piano accompaniment kicks into high gear.
Frozen Fever, directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, will play ahead of the new Cinderella live-action flick, starting tomorrow (March 13). “It’s really hard for us to try to define it,” Buck shared with Yahoo! Movies this week, of the snowy phenomenon. “It’s just as much of a surprise, in a good way, to us as it is to everyone. It just keeps going and going.”
On the new film, which almost centered solely on Olaf, “We could see some different opportunities for some fun and that just got all of us going. Elsa’s never really been able to throw a party for Anna. They were apart most of their growing up."
