There's already been a few huge releases in K-pop this year, and the unlikely victor in the K-pop battle appears to be Girl's Day. The foursome's new single, "Something," is still top five on the Instiz iChart and No. 2 on Melon's real-time chart more than a week after its release. This puts it just ahead of its closest competition, Ailee's "Singing Got Better," as well as higher than TVXQ's "Something," and miles in front of Rain's double comeback tracks, "30 Sexy" and "La Song."
The girls already trumped Rain on the Gaon chart, debuting at No. 6 with "Something," while "La Song" entered at No. 19 and "30 Sexy" followed at No. 22 -- making Rain's new tunes the lowest-charting of his career.
With Girl's Day toppling some of the fiercest competition in K-pop this month, it looks like the winning streak they started with last year's surprise hit, "Expectation," isn't going to die down any time soon.
