Because Pink had a few lean years in America, many music fans don't realize just how successful she truly is on a global scale -- but the truth about Pink is that she may very well be the biggest pop star in the world today (or at least neck-and-neck with Taylor Swift for the title).
Pink's been outselling the likes of Katy Perry and Beyonce in album sales for years now, her record-breaking tours now routinely gross over the $100 million mark, and her last three albums all yielded a No. 1 single on the Hot 100 -- and that's only the tip of the iceberg.
The fact that people still count Pink out is surprising, but you know who isn't counting her out? RCA Records, who just re-signed the 34-year-old for a new multi-album deal for an undisclosed amount of money (we're assuming it's something ridiculously huge).
RCA CEO Peter Edge stated, "We couldn't be more proud to have P!nk continue her relationship with RCA. She is a one-of-a kind artist who continues to raise the stakes of her own artistry with her inspiring songs and sky's the limit live performances. We look forward to an incredible future ahead."
RCA President and COO Tom Corson added, "P!nk is in a league all her own and we are thrilled she will continue to be a member of the RCA family. There is no question she has upped the ante on what it takes to remain on top of the global stage."
Considering that Pink is one of those rare pop stars that's still getting bigger with every album even after fourteen years in the business, we can't wait to see what the future holds for her!
