The album is the trending topic of the week with everyone wondering who Becky with the good hair is. Rachel Roy? Rita Ora? Or an amalgam of all the women Jay Z is alleged to have cheated on Beyonce with?
Thank goodness we have Late Late Show host Corden to provide a bit of light relief from the frenzy of speculation and serious interpretation of the meaning behind Beyonce's message.
Showing no vanity whatsoever and hitting the nail smack on the head as usual, Corden has produced an utterly brilliant parody. In his version 'Becky' is 'Jimmy'—probably referring to rival hosts Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.
Corden changes costume many times during the video, channeling his inner Beyonce with conviction. He attempts to make his own lemonade, and while Bey's film charts her journey through rebuilding her relationship after infidelity, Corden shares with us his own personal pain—trying to produce a funny monologue night after night.
"This is in the news, that's in the news, what else is in the news?
I don't want to do another Trump joke. I've exhausted that topic. I've talked about his hair, his tiny baby hands. Doing Trump jokes makes me feel dirty.
You know what else makes me feel dirty? This bathtub."
He shared the spoof on Twitter with the hashtag #LEMONJAMES and so far has over 500,000 views on YouTube, a little bit behind his classic Carpool Karaoke with Adele which has over 99 million views, but hey, it's early days.
