Justin Bieber's very public endorsement of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" came via an endless stream of tweets and pull quotes, but nothing was better at convincing us that this was a song that could truly change our lives than his now famous lip dub. The Bieb cajoled an impressive collection of celebrity friends willing to act stupid for the camera (Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Carlos Pena) and sparked a label-endorsed call to action for recreations of Jepsen's own video, the most recent of which belongs to Katy Perry. Never one to object to video goofiness or behind-the-scenes fun for fans, Perry and her purple hair appear poolside with friends dancing around as only Carly Rae can make a person do (lots of acting out lyrics as dance moves and apparently, punching inflatable monkeys in the face). Things go off the rails a bit at the second verse, but luckily Perry is also good at directing. It's hard to tell if this has been a long time coming, or simply the result of a weekend spent in the desert doing potentially illicit things. Speaking of, where's Rihanna?

With summer pool party season almost here, it's great to see that the "Call Me Maybe" craze has yet to reach its saturation point. Even those Coachella ghost worshippers can find time to keep up with Bieber's playlist. Watch below.

Before you run off to film yet another lip dub of your own, be sure to check out Carly Rae Jepsen's recent battle against our Popdust Magic Box, wherein the 26-year-old reveals her specific tastes in lingerie and her (admittedly bad) early attempts at songwriting.
