Katy Perry's Parents: Maybe Not So Bummed About That Divorce After All

Well, it looks like Katy need not have jumped through all those hoops after all to placate her parents after her divorce with Russell Brand—looks like they might have been cool with it after all. According to British newspaper The Sun (always the most reputable of sources), Katy's parents Keith and Mary Hudson spoke to a congregation in Westlake, Ohio about their daughter's recent personal strife, and referred to the divorce as "a gift from God." (No direct quote is really provided.) They also showed continued support for Katy in general, with Keith offering the following message regarding his daughter:

I love my daughter, and I will always love her...Stop being judgmental and critical. Do not close the doors to your loved ones, especially your children...just because they do not like what you do or what you are, they are still praying that you stay in the race. They are counting on you.

Awww, how CSNY of Keith. We don't know who Russ's parents are or what they do for a living, but we hope they're off in some sort of satanist church right now trying (though not succeeding, that'd just be weird) to put a pox on the entire Perry clan. It seems only logical and fair.
