We all know that Kelis' milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, but what about her sauces? The certified saucier (seriously, she's a graduate from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school!) officially launched her own line of sauces called 'Feast' this past weekend at the Beverly Hills Food & Wine festival.
Kelis talked a bit about her sauce schooling back in 2010 in an interview with the NY Times.
"I focused on being a saucier. Anything with a sauce involved, I flourished. I learned the basic French sauces like a beurre blanc or a bordelaise — really basic, classic French red and white sauces, but I would go off on my own."
"I spent a lot of time out of the country looking for new things to eat. I spent a summer in Malaysia and Bali and that region. I was in Penang, where everything is savory and sweet. I’d make beef and shrimp sauces infused with litchi. I started doing my own thing."
She's been working on this for years, so we're glad to see her dream finally come to life. We're also glad to see a celebrity putting out a product that they actually know something about -- 99% of celebs today probably can't even tell you the notes in their own signature fragrances.
On top of slaying the sauce world, Kelis also has a new single called "Rumble" on the way. The music video was shot earlier this month, but there's no official release date for it yet.
