Kesha Sues Dr. Luke For Physical And Sexual Abuse

Max Page
10.14.2014

Kesha has filed a blistering lawsuit against Dr. Luke, claiming she suffered ten years of verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse at his hands.

The 27-year-old alleges the producer made sexual advances towards her, and forced her to use drugs and alcohol, pretty much from the moment she first signed with him at age 18—and claims the alleged abuse almost drove her to death.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Kesha documents a number of incidents where Dr. Luke allegedly drugged her and then forced himself on her—including one occasion where he allegedly forced her to drink with him, then gave her “sober pills” which she claims resulted in her waking up naked in his bed the following afternoon, feeling sore, with no memory of what had happened.

She also alleges the 41-year-old physically assaulted her and that his verbal attacks led to her eating disorder.

As Popdust previously reported, after Kesha entered rehab back in January—to undergo treatment for bulimia and anorexia—her mom, Pebe Sebert, blamed Dr. Luke AKA, Lukasz Gottwald, along with her daughter’s manager, David Sonnenberg, claiming Gottwald once likened Kesha’s appearance to “a refrigerator” and that Sonnenberg once screamed at Kesha, “You need to lose weight! I don’t care what you do, take drugs, not eat, stick your finger down your throat.”

Both denied the allegations.

Sebert also vowed her daughter would never work with Gottwald again, and that the next time she saw him it would be in a courtroom.

Fast forward to now, and Kesha is asking a judge to allow her to be released from her contract with Gottwald.

The singer’s attorney, Mark Geragos, tells TMZ:

This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke

The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time.

At time of posting, Dr. Luke has yet to respond to the lawsuit allegations.

UPDATE: Dr. Luke just filed a countersuit, denying all the allegations and claiming Kesha is making up stories in order to get out of her contract—he also alleges she has tried to extort him.
