T-ara's latest recruit, Dani, has yet to officially debut with the damaged girl group, but that's not enough to shield her from the wrath of angry Korean netizens. The nets have been decidedly anti-T-ara since the group's bullying scandal last year, but with the "Sexy Love" singers currently laying low while they prepare for their next comeback, the netizens' attention has turned over to poor Dani. The 13-year-old, who is currently starring in the popular teen drama, School 2013, messed up in a recent episode when she broke the fourth the wall by briefly glancing directly into the camera and smiling, while all of her co-stars had their focus on one of the other characters. The mistake was quickly picked up by the press, with several articles hitting Korea's major news portals about the negative netizen reaction to Dani's slip-up.
Some of the netizens' comments simply attacked Dani's acting (“She’s seriously bad. She’s harming the show.”) but most of them referenced T-ara's various scandals. One comment read, "Sending my applause to her determination to stare at the camera in the middle of her acting, clap clap clap," while another said, "Now we have 'Nuisance Girl' to add to the list of 'Sex Machine', 'Rice Cake Eunjung', 'Pretty', etc..."
It was only going to be a matter of time before the netizens found some dirt on Dani, but it can't have been too easy for them. The California-born teen speaks little Korean, so she's been out of the spotlight learning the language before her debut with T-ara, and her role on School 2013 is so minor that she's only uttered a few singular words during the entire series. Whether or not the latter has to do with her acting skills or the language barrier is unknown, but for Dani's sake, she's going to have to step it up before joining T-ara. If the netizens hated her small School 2013 blunder, then they're going to absolutely eat her alive if she screws something up in K-pop's most controversial girl group.
