She is one of the greatest reality show villains in the history of the genre, and now, ten years later, Kristin Cavallari is coming forward to explain why she was such a royal bitch on the hit shows Laguna Beach and it's successor, The Hills.

The producers made her do it! It was all their fault!

Guess Which Hills Star Was A Raging Meth Head!

In the 29-year-old's very candid self-improvement book, Balancing In Heels, she expertly shifts blame onto behind-the-scene fat cats who suggested her then-boyfriend Stephen Colletti cozy up to co-star Lauren Conrad while they were dating, to trigger some reality show worthy antics.

It was all their fault

Coletti, now, 30, comes out smelling like a rose in the book, out now.

“He was my entire world, and we loved hard and fought hard. One of the most hurtful things they did was pressure Stephen to spend time with another girl from the show, Lauren, while he and I were dating."

Cavallari claimed the “love triangle" was entirely machinated by producers.

“I felt threatened," she admitted, then added that producers put her in situations “where they knew I would react. I was a fighter back then: When I felt threatened, I acted."

Great TV

“It certainly provided some juicy conflicts," the mother of three conceded, but those great TV moments came with a high emotional price. “It also affected me deep."

There were many times where Kristin was convinced the producers were trying to ruin her relationship with Stephen. It forced me to “put up a wall that made it look like I didn't care about anyone but myself. But Stephen was the most important thing in my life, and there was nothing I cared about more."

Kristin admits that she came across like a “mean girl," but was never quite prepared for what she saw on screen. “I was shocked and sad that I was being portrayed as anything but myself: a sarcastic, goofy girl who just wanted to have fun."

The producers recognized that Kirstin's short temper was a gold mine for ratings, and she feels like they took full advantage. Her parents were going through divorces and she had to adjust to new step -families. That, and the fact that she became a household name practically overnight at the tender age of 17.

Kristin also dished that the producers would text the cast things to say so that it would just look like they were just on their phones, as opposed to being given a script to read.

“We didn't realize how much we were being manipulated. I was 17. They got what they wanted out of me."
