It's been a rough few months for Lady Gaga. Once the biggest pop star on the planet, this year saw Mother Monster get outsold by Katy Perry and overshadowed by Miley Cyrus and Beyonce. On top of that, both VH1 and Forbes just named ARTPOP as one of the biggest flops of the year.
With ARTPOP's second single, "Do What You Want," getting bogged down in controversy thanks to sex offender R. Kelly's involvement, Gaga's decided to slap Christina Aguilera on the track instead. The former foes already performed the new version together on The Voice, but now an official studio version will be rushed to digital retailers to help the track regain some footing on the charts.
And we stupidly thought slapping rival pop divas onto quick cut-and-paste remixes died out in 2011.
This is actually the second official "Do What You Want" remix following an earlier one with Rick Ross. Whether or not all these remixes will turn the song into an actual hit is still up in the air. We're still awaiting the Terry Richardson-directed music video to drop, but who knows if that's even still happening now.
