Well, that's one answer to the question "where did all those stills come from?" First there were about five, then about then, then a whole video, which Web Sheriff is busy shooting off the Internet as we speak. (EDIT: Gaga herself did it, apparently. Which is what "FUCK THURS DAY" was all about. Called it.) Watch it below:
We'll have more detailed thoughts later, but our first impression? Not entirely coherent, is it? There's the crop-circle cornfield, with a rather flaxen Gaga playing the piano to the delight of herself (as Jo Calderone, or Luc Carl, or something), then her goggled, black-dress-wearing, callused self standing on the open road pondering something or another, all interspersed with mermaid sex, mermaid Maenads, something semi-sinister with shackles and a syringe that's like a quicker-cut, darker "Bad Romance."
In other words, it's all the imagery people were hoping for from "The Edge of Glory"; here in the Popdust office, we've watched it about 15 times each and have yet to come up with a throughline. When we know, we'll let you know. In the meantime, tell us your theories! We can't read Gaga's mind, but maybe you can.
