When Lil Wayne performs at the VMAs this Sunday night, don't be surprised if he's sporting a badass new battle scar. According to TMZ, the extraterrestrial rapper was RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL after experiencing a wipeout on his skateboard at a park in St. Louis. Weezy received nine stitches over his left eye for his efforts, while "several members of his entourage" offered emotional support. This did not affect his feelings about his I Am Still Music gig in Maryland Heights, Missouri earlier that day, however, as Tunechi tweeted "The Lou was good but I busted my fuggin head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people."

Really, we're glad to see that even at age 28, Weezy still has enough skate rat left in him to lace up his Vans after a gig and head out on his board, and that he's willing to look at his wound as a badge of gnarliness. With even 20-year-old Tyler, the Creator claiming he's too busy to skate these days, it's refreshing to see a rapper take the time to get in some quality time on the half-pipe. We're none of us young forever, you know.
