Now with her heavily promoted Nightline interview out of the way, we can all prepare to check out Madonna's feature in the upcoming issue of Newsweek, out January 30. It should be worth the wait, as one choice quote has has managed to build more anticipation for the magazine's story than any of ABC's video previews—which boasted retrospective pictorials and a candid look at her May-December romance with Brahim Zaibat—could create, by addressing the continuous Lady Gaga comparisons. After previously skirting around the subject, when specifically asked about last year's claims that "Born This Way" ripped off her 1989 hit "Express Yourself," Her Madgesty said:
I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song (‘Express Yourself’). I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was…interesting.
Sorry, Amber Rose. That's how you leave them wanting more. Maybe it was all in the way reporter Jacob Bernstein asked the question, or maybe she's simply had enough of us speculating. Even without video, there is more palpable disdain loaded in the lone word "interesting" than any condescending mention of "hydrangeas." More please!
