It looks like the rumours were true—Mariah Carey is headed to Las Vegas!
The controversial diva made the big announcement on The Ellen Show today, finally putting an end to all the speculation that she was headed to Sin City.
"I‘m going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me," Mariah said. "And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1’s, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them."
As Popdust previously reported, Mariah is replacing rival Jennifer Lopez, who recently pulled out of her own highly-rumoured Vegas deal at the last minute after demanding too much money. JLo also has a number of other projects on her plate right now, including her own NBC cop drama, a number of movies, and of course, American Idol.
However, that doesn't mean that Mimi's being paid a pittance for picking up Jenny's scraps. According to TMZ, her deal is "enormous," and is most likely higher than the 475k-per-show that Britney Spears is currently receiving.
Get money, Mimi!
