In a new interview, Melania Trump reaffirmed her confidence in her husband Donald, flatly stating, 'He's not Hitler.'

Whew, that's a relief.

Not many potential First Ladies in my lifetime have been moved to make this declaration but when you think about it, it's a stellar compliment!

Nor only is Donald Trump not Hitler, Melania goes on to elaborate:

He wants to help America. He wants to unite people. They think he doesn’t but he does. Even with the Muslims, it’s temporary.

Frau Trump is no less complimentary about herself. Asked about news anchor Chris Matthews, who ogled her walk while still on the air, she responds:

I’m not only a beauty, I’m smart. I have brains. I’m intelligent.

And after a pause,

I would just say, Men will be men.

Melania likes to point out that she is a strong independent woman and not just some gold digger or eye candy. She reminds us that she picks up her son from school every day, without fanfare, just like a normal mother.

Asked if she feels awkward making small talk with the moms and nannies outside the school, she answers,

I get along. [With] the moms at the school pick-up, it’s ‘Hello, how are you?’ But it’s not friends friends. I like quality over quantity.

So sure of herself, so regal, so Stand By Her Man-ish. Melania Trump seems more than ready to move into the White House where she belongs.

While Melania herself is an immigrant from Slovenia ( 'I felt it was kind of too small for me.') her views on immigration are much like her husband's.  She insists that he has compassion for undocumented immigrants but feels they need to go through legal channels, like she did, if they want to enter the US.

In fact, Melania came to the United States on an H1-B visa, which generally requires a bachelor’s degree or higher. Melania dropped out of college, but here's something fascinating: According to a 2013 Bloomberg account, due to some congressional technicality, foreign-born fashion models are almost twice as likely to receive H1-B visas than computer programmers.

Let's make America great again, shall we?
