The latest iteration of New York City's Governor's Ball was perhaps one of its most exciting yet.

The annual festival has always been a clarion call for a music lovers the world over. Seducing fans from every corner of the world with the promise of a good weekend full of performances, ferry rides, and the verdant wonderland that is Randall's Island. This year, with the return of Phoenix and several killer performances from big names like Donald Glover and Lorde to indie phenomenons Mac DeMarco and Warpaint, this year was a Gov Ball for the books.

In case you haven't been following our Gov Ball coverage, we got you covered with yet another bout of escapism; if last week's playlist was a tribute to the folks who couldn't make it out to Boston, this one's for everyone who went to Randall's Island. This on'e's for everyone who swayed along to Tove Lo's set along with our very own Andrew Karpan. This is for everyone who drove, or flew in, or left their house for the occasion. This is for everyone who took the cramped ferry, who braved the storm for a chance to see their heroes live.

This week, our music writer have compiled their favorites from Gov Ball. Whether or not you went, we invite you to close your eyes and transport your mind, body, and soul to Randall's Island for the harsh beginnings, and the soft finishes, the flourishes of emotion that only music can provide.

Don't forget to tune in next week for a new #MondayMix.
