Burn, Baby, Burn.

Remember our playlist for Summer in the City? That was preparation. Now, we're in the dead of it—the heat, the summer months, the sultry month of June. As you read this, people are tanning on their favorite beach, or healing a sunburn. As you read this, people are waking up to the first rays of dawn on a strange rooftop in Queens. As you read this, people are lounging in sweaty couches in apartments without AC, or sweating in the streets protesting for a better future. summer has arrived, with all the passion that comes with it.

It's for this reason that our 14th #MondayMix is dedicated to fire, the one thing most powerfully associated with everything that summer is. Fire is passion, warmth, sex, heat, sweat, the sun, life itself. Our music writers have scoured their favorites songs about fire for you to light your inner flame.

You'll find this week's mix eclectic: Cigarettes After Sex and Phoenix's new releases, deeper cuts from The Beatles and David Bowie, Lana Del Rey's Burning Desire, Led Zeppelin's ardent, slow-burning guitar, Fleet Foxes Ode to the hottest Cycladic Isle, HAIM's song to days gone by. We've mixed it up for good reason: one of the best parts of the summer is getting out of your comfort zone and meeting new people, finding new things that lights a fire under your ass and make you feel.

Whether this is full of your favorites or you find something new, we can only hope this week's mix kindles something in the hearth of your heart—or at the very least has you bopping your head to the beat.

Tune in next week for a new #MondayMix.
