"Surviving together is all that matters," says downtrodden leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in The Walking Dead's latest Season 5B trailer. Following the devastating "Coda" mid-season entry, the group is now back on the road. That seems to be all they get done these days. In the slickly polished new clip, which seems to be more of a music video than an actually zombie-infested teaser, Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and company are fighting for their lives. As a mysterious fog creeps in, they shoot, stab and combat an unseen force.

After dealing with cannibals for the first time and a misguided troupe at Grady Memorial, what could possibly be next in store for our beloved group of survivors? In a recent cast featurette, Cohan, in particular, dishes on what Maggie might be up against when the show picks back up in less than a month. "We’re going to see Maggie in a way we’ve never seen her,” she shared, “and I think fighting a dark side she’s always resisted.”

Executive producer Scott Gimple also teased about the next chapter: “The back eight has a very interesting structure. There are some very emotional moments. There are some very crazy moments, and there’s a huge change for the situation of these characters.” Earlier this week, AMC released the first official key art, which includes stoic poises from the characters and the inclusion of the map. The last we knew, Morgan (Lennie James) discovered the map, etched with directions to Washington, DC, as he was hot on the trail of Rick and co., but when will he meet up with his long-lost friend?

The second-half synopsis reads: “After the tragic events of the midseason finale — as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, D.C. — Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day-to-day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope. Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp onto what little they have left. Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur. Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?”

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday (Feb. 9) at 9/8c.
