Former Girlicious star Nichole Cordova is now former Girls United star Nichole Cordova. The blonde beauty announced her departure from the trio (now duo) on Facebook this week, citing the need for "full creativity" as the reason behind the move.

I have been getting a few tweets and questions that I just want to clear up! Yes, I made a very hard decision 2 give myself an opportunity of growth & full creativity. I am excited to begin writing and working on a few projects on my own. Creating music is an urgency I will never escape! After many years in a few different girl groups I have collected my wonderful experiences and I am ready for the next challenge. I have never been happier to recognize inspiration and feel hopeful towards my own identity as an artist. I will always evolve and I thank everyone for your support or at least your interest in following my journey! Good stuff kids! I wish my fellow Girls United the very best and I am such a fan of Alex & Candice ‪#‎GirlGroupieForever‬

It's a shame that Girls United never really got to realize their full potential as a group. Since forming, the only significant things they did was appear on X Factor and then release one promo single (the amazing "The Mashup"). It looks like they're planning to continue on as a duo for the time being, but without Nichole the dynamic just isn't the same.

R.I.P. Girls United.
