Not only does One Direction have both the highest and the fastest selling album of the year in the UK, but they could end up with one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.
According to Forbes, 1D's upcoming Where We Are stadium tour is estimated to gross over $300,000,000, which would the boy band in the same company as U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Rolling Stones as one of the top ten highest-grossing tours in history. Even more astonishing is that they'll achieve this with just 65 shows -- less than anybody else in the top ten. The closest is Madonna, with 85 shows, while everyone else played over 100 or 200 shows.
Of course, 1D has the advantage of many of their concert-goers being young, which means their parents need to buy a ticket too, but it's still an astonishing feat for a boy band that's only four years into their career.
The Where We Are tour kicks off in Colombia in April and wraps up in Miami in October.
The lowest average price you'll find for available tickets is $215 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on September 25th. Meanwhile, the average price for One Direction tickets for Los Angeles, New York, and Washington all exceed $450.
